Welcome to The Bushey Academy

 The Bushey Academy Prospectus 2016-17

The Bushey Academy had a tremendous year in 2013, being commended and awarded for all aspects of its work, culminating in a very successful Ofsted inspection during the penultimate week of the Christmas term and confirmation that the academy will be significantly oversubscribed for 2014 entry.

Named the most improved school in Hertfordshire and the 35th most improved in the country in 2012, the academy went on to win the 2013 Education Business ICT Facility Award and the 2013 Building Futures Design Excellence Award. The Bushey Academy was also highlighted as a case study of good practice in school transformation by the Department for Education and was commended for 2013 Education Business Outstanding Academy Award.

Following these notable successes, the academy was also then judged by Ofsted at the end of the year to be “Good” in all areas of its work. Inspectors were especially complimentary about the academic progress and good behaviour of students, the high quality of teaching, the strengths of the sixth form and the ambitious and effective leadership of the school. They also commented on how other schools highly rated the support they had been given by the academy.

A great deal of hard work  went into making the school the success story that it now is, and the dedication and commitment of all the staff, the positive attitudes, self-belief and high expectations of students, the support of parents and the work of the governing body all combine to make a highly effective and sought after school. Even from this position of strength, we continue to strive for ever higher standards of excellence.
